Chasing Away Childhood Cancer

Upcoming Washington DC Events

As a part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, our very own Whitney and Adam will once again be heading to our nation’s capital to be a part of two very special events! This year’s CureFest for Childhood Cancer will be held on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday September 20. With a mission “to unite the childhood cancer community and the general public as one voice against childhood cancer and to make childhood cancer a national priority,” CureFest will feature a welcome event, candle light vigil, and CureFest walk. Speakers for this event include Mark Meyers, a childhood cancer advocate, as well as Dr. Eugene Hwang, who works for Children’s National Medical Center.  In addition to CureFest, Whitney and Adam will be attending the Rally for Medical Research, also in D.C. It will take place September 16 through 17 this year, making it the third annual Rally event. With over 300 national organizations in attendance, the Rally for Medical Research aims to raise funding for the NIH, and promote the necessity and importance of continued investment in medical research. Whitney and Adam will become a part of this process, hoping to get Congress to expand this medical funding.
