Chasing Away Childhood Cancer

Still Fighting for a Cure

Jessica Jo Jury was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma in December 1990. Although we knew the treatments were painful for Jessica her unconditional love was infectious and allowed everyone to see the joy in her, regardless of the battle she was fighting. She fought a courageous battle but succumbed to complications of Neuroblastoma on April 27, 1991 at the age of 2 years 7 months.

Jessica Jo’s deep laughter, giving heart, and compassion lives on with her family and friends; some of which have only heard stories of her short but fulfilling life. As her family looks back over the years, Jessica Jo has inspired many that have never met her – but would call her a friend. It is clear to see that she continues to touch many lives today.

As advanced treatments have been made in pediatric cancer research (specifically Neuroblastoma) over the past few decades, there is still much to be accomplished. We need to prevent more children and their families from suffering through the effects of cancer. It is understood there is great effort involved in making small advances in medical technology ranging from funding to research to testing – although, a seed left unplanted may be the seed that helps lead to a cure.
