Chasing Away Childhood Cancer

Help Plant the Seeds of Hope for Tomorrow’s Children

Chase After a Cure (CAAC) was founded in 2009 by Chase’s mother, Whitney Ringler.  Over the years, CAAC has flourished because of tremendous support from the community.  Thanks to the support of donors like you, we are able to provide funding to the only childhood cancer research lab in the State of South Carolina. CAAC donors have helped provide the infrastructure for curative results for children fighting cancer, and you can help us translate that infrastructure into results. By making a gift in 2016, you can bring effective treatments to children battling cancer in South Carolina.

Medical research can take as long as 7-10 years to fully develop and produce results, and the research lab our donors support has already shown remarkable results.  Thanks to our donors, we will soon be able to provide a handful of clinical trials to children who need it most. As of today, 95% of all childhood cancer survivors will experience secondary and long term side effects by the age of 45.  These side effects are a direct result of the treatment they received or the disease itself. Chase is alive today, but the road ahead will present many challenges and obstacles he must overcome.

Many research labs are funded by The National Institute of Health and National Cancer Institute. Unfortunately, less than 4% of the federal cancer research budget is dedicated to childhood cancer research.  In the last 25 years, there have only been three FDA-approved drugs to treat childhood cancer. These harsh realities are why your support is so crucial.   Research and clinical trials are what children like Chase need to survive, and to survive with a better quality of life.

Chase After a Cure is excited to announce that it has launched its Inaugural Annual Campaign.  This campaign is instrumental in funding research and moving our mission forward.  With your help, we can continue to advance three strategic pillars that are vital to achieving the CAAC mission:  Advocacy, Research, and Collaboration. Our goal is to raise $75,000 for our 2016 Annual Campaign.  We are asking you to consider a gift that is meaningful to you to help Chase After a Cure reach its goal in 2016.
