Chasing Away Childhood Cancer

CAAC Is on the Move!

This month, Chase After A Cure will be attending and participating in big and exciting upcoming events for children’s cancer research. The Coalition Against Childhood Cancer Annual Summit and Membership Meeting this year will take place June 16th and 17th. Chase After A Cure is excited to join over 80 organizations that will take part in the summit this month. Adam White, our executive director, says, “because of funding from Walmart’s grant we are able to make this trip to further collaboration for research, advocacy and awareness. We are proud members of CAC2.” As members of the summit this year, we will hear from multiple speakers including childhood cancer survivors, and doctors discussing a wide range of topics from research and drug development to childhood cancer therapy. In addition to the summit, we are proud to be a part of this year’s Childhood Action Days held in Washington, DC June 15-16. On the 15th, Chase After a Cure will participate in the Alliance for Childhood Cancer advocacy training and on the 16th we will meet with South Carolina representatives to discuss more funding for The National Cancer Institute #MoreThan4 for childhood cancer research funding.  As stated by the Alliance for Childhood Cancer, their goal for Childhood Cancer Action Days is to “provide the childhood cancer community […] with the opportunity to visit their Representatives on Capitol Hill and advocate for the important childhood cancer issues currently before Congress.” Although we will be very busy in the month ahead, all of us at CAAC are excited for the upcoming events in DC, and we are more than ready to lend all of our efforts to continue the chase after a cure!
