MUSC’s Pet Therapy Program Aims to Bring Comfort to Those in Need
A dear friend of mine that I work with has such a passion for rescuing animals; but mostly of the dog variety. This got me thinking about our pet therapy volunteer programs at MUSC. We offer pet therapy programs to children and adults alike. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has deemed pet interaction provides invaluable benefits to humans. Lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and feeling of loneliness are just a few of the mentioned benefits!
There are currently two dogs providing their services to the MUSC Buddy Brigade. Donations can be made to the pet therapy program or you can contact Volunteer Services to find out how to become the owner of a therapy dog!
